Poker is legal so long as you don’t charge a rake. Basically ALL gambling is legal so long as the host (the house) doesn’t back the games in order to turn a profit. House games between friends ARE legal. But a better way to go about it is to let people buy chips for your games, and at the end of the party they can “buy” raffle tickets with their chips. Then you hold a raffle with prizes bought from the chip sales. The more they win, the more chips they have, the better their chances to win one of the raffle prizes. I did this at a wedding, and it was a helluva lotta fun. And you can buy a craps felt and a piece of plywood for like $20. All you need for blackjack is a table.
