Two tricks you can use. 
1.) I would ask the dealer what he takes his rake at and watch for when he completes it. 
2.) The dealer should annouce how many players are in the hand before each betting round. Just keep a tally of that (ie 5 to the flop, 3 to the turn 5+3=8 bets). Then multiply it by the smaller limit. in a 3/6 game, 5 on the flop is a total of $15 and with a bet and two callers equals 3 bets for a total of 8 bets. 8x3=27 dollars.</description>
